Our goal is to make full use of these natural resources in Hainan,
and to create a enjoyable indoor environment by utilizing passive energy conservation.
Facade design consists of two parts: sun-shading design and ventilation design .
The double skin aspiratory curtain wall system, which constituted by External sunshade and internal composite wall,
forms a heat insulating layer in the curtain wall.
This layer offers an efficient heat transfer mechanism which further provides a comfortable indoor temperature
through airconvention, and about 12%-15% air flux and 5% cooling air is saved.
Compound sunshade material is composed of L-type perforated aluminium manganese panel in Internal thermal insulation coatings.
Based on the sunshine angle, we could adjust the angle and the direction of L-shaped plates to reduce heat radiation.
Meanwhile, L perforated plate has a wind guide function,
which is a simple and clean mechanism of wind resistance, and is very effective to against strong wind.
The parametric design tools can control the opening size and morphology of perforated plate.
Therefore, the controlled natural light can produce a soft indoor atmosphere,
create the feeling of tropical rain forest and bring three facades of different textures.
Taking advantage of the surface morphology and pressure difference,
natural wind will be guided, thus, air ventilation happens through inhaling the fresh air and expelling the hot.
The facade of “Sailing” form of the building harmonizes the building depth and its wind direction,
which enables the architectural form to take advantage of the summer prevailing wind, and maximize natural ventilation.
Hainan isvery hot in summer, double roof systems and passive ventilation system will produce good cooling results.
For example, when the temperature of outer layer of the roof is above 50 degree Celsius, the inner will only about 30 degree Celsius .
The air layer between two rooflayers helps slowing the temperature rising process indoor.
All of the above are done for the seek of effectively controlling indoor temperatures and natural ventilation systems.
